Harpeth Rising -

Keep up to date with all the latest happenings!!

We have had quite the summer so far! Our travels took us everywhere from Midwestern Bluegrass festivals to the highest pub in the UK. We played in underground music bars and in Churches dating from 685 A.D.!  One of the highlights for us was our performance with The Bath Philharmonia as part of the Frome Festival in England. We helped design a program with Conductor Jason Thornton that consisted of a dialogue between the band and the orchestra – they played a movement of a classical piece, and we would play a song that reflected that movement, either in mood or tempo. Mr. Thornton also arranged an orchestra score for our song ‘Abraham’ and they played it with us! It was really thrilling for us. Keep an eye out for video footage of that performance.

Our last gig of our UK tour was also truly unique and awesome – it took place at the music barn of the Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in all of the UK. It takes hours to drive there and it’s truly in the Boondocks, but despite that, the place was packed! When I asked Rantin’ Richie, the resident poet/bartender where all the people came from, he said “it’s always like this!”  We had an exceptional time in this beautiful place and recommend anyone visiting the UK take the journey up the mountain to see it!

We also played to lovely crowds in Bristol, London, Bishop’s Stortford, Hull, and Cambridge. It was all together an incredible few weeks! You can see pictures on our facebook page.

Prior to the trip to England we had a great tour here in the US. We played at the Niles Bluegrass Festival, and the Lotus Dickey Hometown Reunion. Despite tornadoes following us everywhere, good times were had by all!

Upon our return from our travels this summer, we were greeted with great news – we have been voted BEST LOCAL BAND in Nashville at the Toast of Music City Awards!!! This is an amazing honor for us. We are so grateful to our fans!!!
